As with most Starrett products, this one is absolutely first rate.
I bought this to replace a 50-year-old Millers Falls tap wrench of the same size. The Millers Falls wrench jaws were an integral part of the wrench body and was designed to bend inward to hold a tap's base when the knurled knob was tightened. Eventually, that bending caused one of the jaw sections to snap off.
This Starrett tool is a much better design, as the two jaw halves that hold the tap are separate forgings, with a spring holding them apart. It securely holds the very smallest taps -- from 1/16" to 3/16" square shank. The handle rod, needed to provide turning leverage, is pushed into the wrench against a small spring -- which keeps it from moving much, unless you want it to. It's easy and fast to slide the rod out of the way when necessary - much faster than rods that are held in place with a set screw.
The price of this wrench is much higher than other tap wrenches, but if you want the very best, this is the one to get. The design and manufacture of this Made in the USA tool is outstanding. Highly recommended.
