(More customer reviews)I'm not rating a 5 just cause IMO the magnet is not as strong as
I wanted. I've used Starret kits and others in the past and the magnets
on those were stronger. This one is sort of weak yah, but for the cash cost
of the total kit it is a minor nit.
Other than that, the kit is good. I've not done any thorough
deep analysis of the indicator itself but it worked without sticking
and seems to not have any gross errors in the mechanism.
The nice assortment of pointer adapters is nice. A bonus is
the threads are the same as the assortment of Starret pointers (nibs?)
that I have.
The thread in the magnetic base is 5/16 coarse.
For the massive cash outlay you can't go wrong. Least not with the one I got.
I'm sure it isn't up to Starret grade but I'm not using it for anything but household
occasional use (very rare usage) like checking the run out on my table saw , drill press, etc etc.

This 1" stroke dial indicator features large, easy to read numbers and crisp graduations.Each revolution is 0.100", indicated by the revolution counter. The resolution is 0.001". There is a mounting lug on the back of the case. The magnetic base indicator holder has a fine adjustment feature. The on/off switch makes it easy to position. The v-groove base allows you to mount it on cylindrical surfaces.Includes a 22 piece indicator point set and a plastic case.
