I requested this 25 Foot Measuring tape for MY personal tool box. Since my husband already had one, I used his for comparison in the video.
Differences:
1) KR is a bit heavier because of the calculator
2) Size of the numbers on KR is smaller
3) KR measures to 1/32" standard
4) Calculator works well even in indirect light and is easy to read.
5) Husband's Measuring tape is sturdy to almost 8 ft, while the KR falls a bit short.
6) It has call-out "stars" on the tape at the appropriate stud and truss markings - easy to miss unless you are looking for them ... and the stud and truss markings are not differentiated. On my husband's tape - every 16" is marked in red, and the truss markings have a small star.
(See Video or photo above)
7) Neither tape measure has centimeter markings ... both are only in American inches. The packaging showed digital markings (eg. in tenths and hundredths instead of fractions) but it is not included on the actual tape measure.
Conclusion:
If you aren't worried about a few extra ounces of weight, and if you aren't worried about the size of the numbers on the tape, the KR is a great choice. Having the calculator at your fingertips is awesome, although you will still need a pad of paper for writing down your results. I give it 4 1/2 stars ...
But if you are like me, you'd rather see it than hear about it ... so I have created a video showing the most important points.
