(More customer reviews)These are substantial precision triangles. They come in a wooden package designed to be mounted on a wall or inside a cabinet door. The two triangles are 4 1/2 and 6 1/4 in on a side. These are 1/4" thick and lend themselves well to be registered against parts, table and band saw blades,drill press tables and the like. The two triangles are held together for storage by three brass thumb screws. It's a rugged and I suppose reliable solution but the screws are too easy to miss place. With the two triangles screwed together it is alkward to use so taking it apart has to be done frequently. The storage tray is nicely made and will protect these for long life without dings. They are ruggedly made so they are unlikely to ever become so badly damaged as to provide and unreliable right or 45 degree angles. The triangles are coated with a black coating and the gradiations are white and allegedly laser marked - I am not questioning the marking. Because these do not have engraved gradiations they do not lend themselfs to being used with marking knife. Because of the thickness they lend themselves to a lot of parallax error when used for measurement. Pinnicle has sets of triangles and straight edges with beveled edges which lend themself to measuring and marking better than this set. These are most naturally used for machine setup and verifing squareness during assembly.
