(More customer reviews)I bought this barometer as an adjunct to a barograph that I had purchased years ago. I thought that it looked like a quality barometer for around $70.00 so I purchased it. When I received it, I was a little disappointed. Although the case is brass and is well constructed on the outside, the internal mechanism is very insensitive. It takes a drastic change in barometric pressure to move the needle and you have to tap tap tap the barometer to get the needle to settle. When calibrated and then subsequently compared to METARS, it is very inaccurate.
I looked inside and discovered the problem. The aneroid sensor in the barometer is only one inch in diameter. That accounts for the lack of sensitivity. The included temperature and humidity dials suffer from the same problem. They are highly inaccurate, and when calibrated via a master thermometer and hygrometer, have so much play in the mechanism as to be unuseable.
So, don't even consider this instrument for your weather wall. You would be much better served by purchasing a hybrid barometer from FISHER SCIENTIFIC for about $90.00 and aquiring separate instruments for the temperature and humidity, such as a TAYLOR mason's hygrometer.
