I made the purchase because of the LCR features at a low cost.
One feature I do like is the bracket that pivots out from the back to hold the meter at an angle for easy viewing.
The user manual does suffer from some poor translation. An example of this is: "After measuring completely, disconnection the test leads with the circuit to be measured, and remove the test leads from the meter." I believe it means: "After measuring, remove the test leads from the circuit and also remove the test leads from the meter." I think the idea is not to turn the rotary switch, aka Range Selector, as this may cause damage.
In measuring Inductance I used a Radio Shack 100 microheneries RF Choke, p/n 273-102C. I wasn't getting a reading at first after following the instructions. If I had read the Capacitance instructions I would have known to press the Lx/Cx button. So, I press the button and still nothing. Moving the selector to 2m or 20m I got a reading.
The reading is 0.095 at 2m and 0.09 at 20m. The selector being set at 2m means the range is from 0 to 2 milihenries with a resolution of 0.001mH; therefore, it reads as 95 microhenries after moving the decimal three places. Accuracy is stated as plus/minus 4.0% of the reading plus 5 of the resolution.
The small coil only measures at the two selector postions. The coil is far to small and under the range for the 200m or above positions. I measured a coil of 350mH and had to set the selector to 2m and got 0.365 for a reading. I would think a different position, but at least I got a reading. Just got to learn how to use it.
I much prefer a meter with an auto ranging LC meter designed into it. I opted not to build my own LC meter for this model and consider it a good choice as it has other features that I can use.
Update: At first I pressed the leads in until they stopped. Then, I was retesting and didn't get any readings. I pushed on the leads to get a bettter connection and one went down until it was flush. A final word is when the test leads are inserted to press them all the way down.
