(More customer reviews)I like this tape. It is comfortable to hold, smooth, sure operation, has about a 7' useful tape stand-out and large, easy to read numbers. Most importantly, it is a self-locking tape, which I find invaluable. I have a more expensive, big name brand tape that I have to fight to get it to lock. This tape is much nicer to use and is the one that I reach for when I don't need long tape stand-out.
The tape body is 3 1/2" long, which is clearly marked on the body, in large, easy to read numbers on the back of the tape. That's a very nice touch and and easy figure to add into your measurements when you're doing inside measurements that require you to include the body length.
The only problem with the tape is minor, in that the self-locking mechanism is released by pressure on a large area of the tape bottom. That's a nice, very convenient place to put it, because your fingers are usually already over it, but that also can cause slippage of the tape if you put accidental pressure on the release mechanism. I'd like to see a little more spring pressure on the release mechanism, but even so, this is my favorite tape to use today. The autolock is a huge feature that should be on all tapes, in my opinion. If I break or lose this one, I'll buy another Lufkin autolock.
