Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)If you are looking for reasonable precision and value, these are pretty good. If you are a machinist, you probably already know the tolerances are not great with this set... certainly not as good as the $2500 Starrett set.
If you are a woodworker who needs precision angle blocks for setting-up your machines, these are quite nice and at a reasonable price. They are far more accurate than the discount Chinese blocks we see by nuline or other imported brands. It is simply impossible to get super-precision tools at those prices, imported or not.
However, I discovered a place you can get VERY PRECISE re-ground blocks for $89 !
I found them quite by accident at tablesawalignment.com. The same guy who makes the TS Aligner sells them. He basically takes inexpensive angle blocks, then personally regrinds them to very tight tolerances... equal to or greater than these.
Because he doesn't have to start from scratch, he saves a ton on labor and machining time. Each reground block is stamped with his initials and the word "regrind" so you know what you are getting and won't get them mixed-up with any others.
For great accuracy and value they can't be beat.
If you are in a hurry though, you might be better off with these, simply because the $89 re-grinds take a couple of weeks to get. If the wait is not as important as superb quality at a very low price, then check out the "regrind angle blocks" by Ed Bennet at tablesawalignment.com. You can get BETTER accuracy for LESS money. You will just have to wait a little longer.
