(More customer reviews)Got it as a present. My Empire square is very true; within .002" over the twelve inch length. That makes it good enough for most carpentry jobs. No, it isn't a Starrett, but I don't want to take my dad's fine old Starrett out of the drawer except for critical set-ups and super precise (fine) joinery INSIDE the shop. Everyone needs a Starrett for the super-accurate fine work in your shop. But everyone needs at least one decent square they don't have to "baby."
This Brand and model provides reliable accuracy for general carpentry. At this price, it's a solid value.
