First thing I did was check all surfaces with a Starret Square, and all surfaces on the Master Gage, on every plane were perfectly square. So in addition to measuring, you can use the body for squaring, and it even has a stainless steel knife edge that extends out one side for setting up your saw blade for example.
After woodworking for a long time, you finally come to the realization that lining up your equipment to .001 of an inch makes all of the difference in the world, and it isn't more time consuming than rough guessing it. No more burning wood, and fighting with off angle settings. Finished pieces with the right blade and fence will come off the saw, without even a tooth mark, and be ready for assembly, or to be put on exposed surfaces. That alone is a quantum leap from having to either overcut your pieces, and then joint them to an approximate edge, or sand out burn marks and blade marks leaving an uneven edge.

The one I am craziest about is the "Magnetic Miter Slot Cradle Bar" which eliminates the problems inherent in varying width miter slot tracks. One edge has embedded into it rare earth magnets so it holds snugly onto the miter tracks closest edge. I was always secretly jealous when I heard others telling me what the measured run out (wobble) was of their motor armatures, drill presses and such, not knowing how to measure it, or having the tool to do it with. This kit comes with a 0.300 inch diameter flat 400C stainless steel dial indicator tip, hardened to Rockwell 52 that perfectly accomplished run out measurements. The illustrations and instructions in the owners manual show you the way.
