The plastic is pretty thick and has a sturdy feel to it. A great buy - no complaints here. It's a lot easier and quicker to mark your materials with this tool vs. a plain straight edge or ruler. A must have for anyone who does a lot of turning and wants to focus more on creating shavings than setting up materials.
