David White Pocket Sighting Level #17-620DW Review

You look thru a pin-hole to get the sighting, but you can't see thru the pinhole if you wear glasses. If you take your glasses off then you can see thru, but if you're near-sighted like me then you won't be able to see very far in the distance to tell what you're sighting.

Empire Level EM51.9 9-Inch Heavy Duty Magnetic Torpedo Level Review

Empire Level EM51.9 9-Inch Heavy Duty Magnetic Torpedo Level

I was expecting a little more from this level. I like the unique color and design. I like the nifty blue liquid. I like that the level is VERY accurate. What more could you want? How about a magnet that holds on to, say, iron? The magnet is really weak, and I knew it was the "strip" kind and not the "rare-earth" kind when I bought it, but JEEZ, it holds like a post-it note.
The blue liquid in the vials IS cool, however it really sucks in a low-light situation or when using a LED light that happens to have a bluish hue. The bluish light washes out the color and you get NO contrast and therefore NO readability.
If you're working mostly with non-ferrous materials (wood, copper, etc.) and are in a room that has at least 2 lightbulbs in it you'll be perfectly happy with this level. It is as accurate as they claim. It is well-constructed. It is lightweight while still having a nice "heft" so as to not feel cheap. The rubber shock-absorbing ends are quite nice too.

Swanson Tool TL041M 6-1/2-Inch Heavy-duty Magnetic Torpedo Level Review

Swanson Tool TL041M 6-1/2-Inch Heavy-duty Magnetic Torpedo Level

The Lil' Savage looks like a pretty useful item for the carpenter or serious DIYer. The top has a v-groove to make it easy to hold against a pipe (or an outside corner), there are four vials (30, 45, 90, 0 degrees), four magnets for use with metal studs, and even some kind of clamp for taking readings off bent pipes.
It's well-built out of solid billet. The magnets have held it firm on everything I stuck it to. It even held in place on my truck going down the highway at 50mph!
I like the fact that it can hold itself on round metal pipe and will also attach itself to the end of a pipe for leveling.
While this may not be the cheapest torpedo level out there, it sure is made to last a lifetime. When I'm long gone my children will still get good use out of this level.

Stanley 43-512 Lighted Shock-Resistant Torpedo Level Review

This is a great little level. The vials have four lines, instead of just two, for centering, which really helps get it bubble (and therefore the level) in exactly the right place. The black rubber moldings around the tips help protect the most vulnerable areas of the tool, while making it easier to hold. It has a magnet in the base strong enough to hold it onto a pipe or other metal object. The little light inside makes seeing the bubble in low light conditions a breeze.

IRWIN Strait-Line 2035100 9-Inch Cast Torpedo Level Review

IRWIN Strait-Line 2035100 9-Inch Cast Torpedo Level

This level i must say is very solid and will stay true. Magnets work very well. The bubble in the vials separates with the slightest vibration or tap. This is unacceptable from any level in construction use. I am very disappointed in IRWIN as i trust them to make decent tools. I am a commercial carpenter and rely on my hand tools. this torpedo level is ridiculously heavy. I kept trying to loose this level and it kept ending up back in my too bag. I've finally parted with it, and i currently use the "Stabila 25100 10-Inch Die-Cast Rare Earth Magnetic Level" I could not be happier.
